In the graphic arts sector, the discussion is intense regarding the plastic materials used as a printing base: often derived from petroleum, they have a significant impact on the environment.
Polyester is one of the most eco-sustainable plastic materials for at least three reasons:
- once printed it can be reused over and over again;
- it is light, compact and easily transportable;
- it is recyclable.
In addition, recycled polyester, similar to virgin in quality and performance, requires 59% less energy to be produced, with a production process that can save up to 20.7% of carbon compared to non-recycled polyester.
